Athletics

Term 1 is always athletics season. We kick off with our inter-house Friday (24 January), in order to identify our school’s athletics team.

In the meantime, all learners are taking part in the try-outs on a daily basis to choose the athletes who will participate on that day to represent their team (Leopards, Lions or Tigers).

Athletics practice

Learners who are included in the inter house team, will start with athletics practice on Monday, 20 January, after school, from 14h15 to 15h15.

Mondays and Wednesdays – Long Jump, High Jump and Shot Put

Tuesdays and Thursdays – Sprints and Hurdles

Mondays to Thursdays – Long distances

Athletics program for the year

On Friday, 24 January, only learners chosen for the team need to attend.

Our second athletics meeting takes place on Saturday, 1 February at Selborne Primary in Vereeniging. This is our annual English Inter Primary meeting, known as the Rupert Maree meeting.

Our third athletics meeting takes place on Saturday, 8 February – here at Pinedene. This is a friendly meeting against Park Ridge Primary and Prestigious Aurette Primary – hosted by Park Ridge.

The Circle 3 Championship (‘Inter Schools’) takes place on Thursday, 13 February at Hoërskool Driehoek.
